Family Fun Day

13^th November 2011

The threat of rain, which had been forecast all week, did not dampen our spits on Sunday for our first family fun day. The tent was up, the merchandise stall was ready, the barbeque trailer was prepared, the drink cooling and our flags were flying. We also had a coffee and ice-cream van ready to serve to those in need.

As a committee it is always difficult to gauge anything we do, we can put everything in place that we think necessary for the day but without people coming along it could all go to waste. To make the day complete we needed families and cars to turn up to share the day as a Club.

So a big thankyou to all those who took the time to come down and share part of their day at this inaugural club event! Next year for the Family Fun day we may move the event to a part where there will be swings for the kids and grass so people can sit down with throw rugs.

A big part of the day's proceeding was the presenting of Mr John Urquhart with his trophy for becoming the Clubs first Life Member. The trophy was presented by the Clubs President Mr Ron day and humbly accepted but well deserved by Mr John Urquhart – Congratulations John.
