1972 CH Chrysler Sedan

Last Updated: 25/05/2018

This magnificent looking 'Chrysler by Chrysler' was purchased by Greg back in February 2003 from Victoria. The car itself was built on the 26th of October 1972, and has all the luxury trimmings of it's day including a factory 360 V8, 727 auto, power steer, air conditioning, power windows.

The motor is bored 40 thou with Speed Pro pistons and shaved heads built to run Gas. The block was decked, a Voodoo gas cam was added and Crane Fireball ignition. Finally atop sits twin Gas Research throttle bodies breathing through K&N filters. Exhaust is via standard manifolds and a 2.5" twin system that exits through dumpers behind the rear wheels. The 727 auto was reconditioned and a stage 2 shift kit added.

The car had rust in the usual places which has been cut and welded, painted in 2 pak in original Vintage Red, a new white vinyl roof as per original and new carpet and some minor trim work inside. Also new screen seals front and rear, reconditioned power steering box and pump, reconditioned 3 core radiator and 16" thermo fan.

The 7" wide Dragways wheels came with the car and are date stamped 1980. They were separated, the outers rechromed, centres polished and reassembled with new caps, nuts and new 245 & 265 Bridgestone Eagers.

Like all projects there will always be more to do, like 3.23 gears in a 9" diff or maybe a 4 pinion Borg Warner, also new side glass and rubbers. The list goes on!
