16/1/2022 (Sunday) - R and S Club are celebration the 60th Anniversary of the R series we have been invited to join them for a cruise and Sausage sizzle.

**We will be meeting at BSRC at 8.30am to depart at 9.00am and cruise together to Whiteman Park (the M car park) next to the Motor museum to join the R&S series club for their programme for the day. Club Event

R Series -60 years Anniversary – 16^th January 2022

Whiteman Park Sunday 16^th January 2022

Celebrating 60 years of the 1008 ‘R’ series arrived at Chrysler Australia Headquarters in South Australia. They were in C.K.D. (complete knock down) form.

On 18^th January 1962 Adelaide then Premier Sir Thomas Playford unveiled the first ‘R’ series at a press conference a Chryslers Adelaide factory.

The R&S Series Valiant Car Club will meet at Whitman Park to celebrate the 60^th Anniversary and have three white “R” Series Valiant’s parked in the front of the Motor Museum. These cars will be covered until 10.00am when we will re-enact the unveiling.

The main BBQ shelter in front of the museum has been reserved for the occasion and morning tea will be available to the R&S Series Club members and members of the Charger Club of WA who have kindly offered to join us for the celebrations.

Any members wishing to go through the museum will receive discounted entry fee – so don’t forget to wear your club shirt and badges.

At approximately 1pm cars will leave Whitman Park and proceed to Camberwell Park in convoy using Drumpellier Drive, Gnangara Rd, Wanneroo Rd (South), Camberwell Rd to Camberwell Park. (Traffic marshals will be directing traffic.)

Drinks and food will be available during the afternoon and a large birthday cake will be cut.

We would envisage celebrations to conclude around 4pm to allow country members time to get home in the daylight, (obviously a lot depends on the weather.)
