1971 VH Hardtop

Last Updated: 25/05/2018

Cheryl's VH Hard top is a tidy example of one of the rarer Valiants', it rolled of the assembly line on 23rd September 1971. This vehicle has almost been completely rebuilt since it has been in Cheryl's life after purchase in March 1992.

Some of the many modifications include the conversion from 265 Hemi 6 to 318 V8 engine, which was rebored and balanced, fitted with a Comp Cam and late model heads with over size valves, ported to suit. A four barrel manifold and carburettor do the fuel air thing and electronic ignition fitted to a twin point Mallory distributor keep things firing. A few little repairs where needed on the interior which is now looking very neat. A respray in 1997 tidied it up but it now needs a little work in that department to keep it looking good. Air conditioning was added in 2004 making this the luxury car desired by Cheryl, who now mostly drives it on weekends.

More pictures of interior and engine bay to follow soon.
