We've been having some technical issues with the emails on the website in the past few days, if you happen to have tried to send us something or filled out a form (e.g. contact form, impromptu run) it wouldn't have gone through. Please try again anytime from 26/09/2022 10:45am.
A copy of the club's book was recently presented to the State Library.
One copy of the book will be put into storage as a record for all time.
The State Library also purchased a copy which will be available for general use and reference by the public.
Paul Monkhouse presenting the books to Coenraad Brand from the State Library.
It's time to get your cars ready for the 2022 Doug Chivas Memorial Track Day at Collie Motorplex!!
We need more entries from club members this year so please get your ride ready and down there on Saturday the 27th of August.
If your ride is fast or slow it doesn't matter, you'll be grouped with similar paced cars and you'll have a great day!
Check out the link for some photos from past events.
Please download and read/fill in the 5 documents below.
This year we're wanting to really streamline the cars getting onto the track in their correct groups based on skill and speed, and so we are following this lane format. The cars that are more competitive and wish to go faster go in the left lane/s, and drivers who are newer to circuit racing or are in slower cars in the right lane/s. Cars that are double entered will go into the furthest-right lane. This will be covered in the drivers briefing too.

Dynamic Pitstop
Dynamic Changes Ten Years On….
Dynamic Style Photography and Dynamic Pit Stop are implementing some significant changes to services offered.
This is due to Tony and Tamara adjusting their workloads and focus. With the help of our customers Dynamic Pit Stop has developed more into an online business, both wholesale and retail that continues to grow.
After 10 years we will be closing the Car Studio, shooting and bookings have already ceased. It has been an absolute pleasure shooting your cars and supplying custom product and specialist images.
Our retail shop will also close around the end of August.
FAQ
Are you closing? Only the retail shop and car studio. We will continue with phone and online sales.
Is that the end of Miss Perth Pinup Competition? Not at all, shooting will only be at our Wanneroo Studio. Hopefully, time permitting, the next will be later this year.
Will you still be supporting car clubs and events? Absolutely, as much as we can!
Will we still see your display truck at events? Definitely. This in fact will become more of our focus.
I really want my Car/ Bike photographed before you close the studio, can you fit me in? As much as we would like to, sorry no. In the last week or so many past clients have said “please, please”. Sorry at this stage time does not permit. If this changes, we will contact those on the (growing) list.
Can you photograph my car at your other studio? Our Clarkson studio was specifically designed for cars. To get those amazing results it took an amazing studio. Our other studio is more designed for retro pinups. Long answer to say no, sorry.
What about Pounce Mobile Pet Photography? Pre Covid it was off to a great start, we haven’t re activated since things have opened up, purely because we haven’t had time. It is our intention, within the next year or so to re-launch.
Will you continue to add to your selection of locally made signs and products? Always.
What about your staff? Everybody has a role in the new structure.
Can I still get custom signs? Yes, that is our speciality. Just pick up the phone or order online.
What will be your trading hours? As they are now Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm
Will you have a showroom? Yes, invitation only, located in Wanneroo.
Summary
Tony, Tamara and staff are really excited about this new direction, it is sad to lose the Car and Bike shoots, we have had a blast! This is also about us getting some time back.
We are not closing, just moving in different directions. Thanks Everyone!
Onwards we go.

Charger Club of Western Australia
From the President
Dear Valued Club Members to you and your Families,
It was very unusual that I sent you all a briefing last week with the newsletter and completely out of the ordinary I send you one again this week, but due our ever-changing environment we are living in today, I need to keep you informed of the activities in and around our wonderful Club.
Our environment is changing day by day with the current Covid19 crisis, as most of you will be aware most eating venues are now closing down and well as our much loved Pubs, Clubs, Casino and social gathering points.
The Belmont Sports and Recreation Club is one such venue and we have now informed that they are closed for business until further notice, so it is with a heavy heart that I have to cancel our upcoming April Club meeting along with all planned Club events until such time as this crisis is over and we come out the other side.
Behind the scenes your committee is still conversing regarding Club issues and agenda items that need to be addressed. If you have any issues regarding the Club please contact one of our Committee who will raise it as an item on our agenda.
As always your health, safety and welfare are a major consideration in everything we do at the Club.
Mike and Maureen will diligently update us all weekly as usual so please continue to enjoy and interact with your Club through this avenue until further notice.
Thank You for Your Patience and Understanding
John Hartley

Life Member 2019
Paul Monkhouse
Tonight (12-8-19), I have the honour and privilege to present the Charger Club’s 3rd Life Membership.
Mr Paul Monkhouse.
Congratulation Paul…this is very much deserved.
Paul has been a member since 2003 and as a club we are very lucky to have Paul as a member, let me add in here that Paul didn’t have a running vehicle for quite some time. Anyway, within a couple of years Paul had become apart of the exclusive committee.
Paul has been secretary, treasurer V.P and The President and He’s still on the general committee…This just show’s Paul’s Love for the club and of course his love for everything Chrysler.
Paul was rebuilding his Charger himself…I’m not sure about the engine but what I do know is that…What Paul didn’t know how to do, He went to night school and learned how to do it himself…that’s commitment.
I joined the committee 8 years ago and I would joke around and introduce Paul to new members and say…this is Paul our president (or whatever roll he was in at the time) and say…Paul tells us he has a Charger but I’m not quite sure if this is a fact because no one has ever seen it…I did have to change that story because Wayne went to Paul’s one day and BINGO yes he has a Charger 😊
I can’t remember when Paul got his Charger on the road but what a fantastic Job he did.
I would also like to Thank Paul’s Lovely Wife because if it wasn’t for her understanding of Paul’s passion…we may not have Paul with us…so a very big Thank you to Ngaere.
Paul was the person behind getting Leo Geoghegan to our 2011 Everything Chrysler Expo…For that I would personally like to Thank Paul, because personally I have made some amazing Friends…and all the members had the chance to meet the racing legend himself.
Again, Paul was responsible for meeting and inviting Cameron Tilly over here to the west…Again Thank you Paul.
Paul has attended for as long as I can remember all the council of motoring meetings and reported back to the club.
A couple of years ago Paul took over the job of running the Doug Chivas Memorial Collie Track Day, from John Urquhart another huge job.
These are just a few things that Paul does for the club…BUT it really doesn’t stop there, if you notice Paul always has sheets in front of him at all the meetings, he also deals with all the non-club runs.
I’m sure I’ve missed things like the merchandise he always has, but we haven’t got all night.
I’m sure I can count on one hand how many meetings and club runs that Paul has missed. He is always there!!
I’m going to wrap this up now with these parting words…
PAUL YOU ARE AN AMAZING AMBASSADOR FOR OUR CLUB.
AND A HUGE THANK YOU FOR ALL THE HARD WORK YOU HAVE PUT INTO THE CHARGER CLUB OVER THE LAST 16 YEARS.
Kylie Sewell
Vice President
Charger Club of W.A.
MEMBER OF THE YEAR 2019

Thankyou to all members and friends that came to the club AGM on Monday 12th August.
Thanks to all of you who put their hand up to be involved on the committee this year.
The following are your new committee for the coming year.
The committee is made up of volunteers and if you contact any of the committee members please keep in mind that they work and will answer your request when they are able. Thank you.

The supercruise has been run and done! Thanks to everyone that braved a little bit of rain to come along!
Pictures from attendees on Facebook here and here and probably plenty more!
A small delegation of CCWA Inc. members attended the 2018 Adelaide Chrysler Festival over the weekend and have provided us with a tall tale and lots of photos. I will leave the tale to be told in an unedited format. ENJOY ! “Four of us took a 5.30am flight from Perth which hurt but was worth it to get to Adelaide in time to hit the Birdwood Motor Museum, we also met up with a mate who flew in from Melbourne at the same time.
The museum was awesome with a huge mix of cars, a Bugatti Veyron and FJ45 'Cruiser greet you through the door, plus the last unfinished Commodore shells from the plant closure a few months ago. Out the back a bunch of Chryslers were parked up on the grass and soon the Wimmera Chrysler convoy rocked up including a couple of good mates who would ferry us around all weekend in the Phoenix and the 340 Pacer. After some more beers we were treated to a private viewing of the museum's latest addition, a one-off 1928 Chamberlain 8 Aussie race car that they had just acquired:
Late in the afternoon it was time for the long drive back to the Tonsley Hotel, a couple of us jumped in the VF Pacer and were treated to very tight and twisty roads. Awesome fun!
A huge night in the Chrysler Bar followed, including a session with Gavin Farmer and ex-Chrysler employees recounting stories how the factory went about things.
The party continued in the hotel rooms with some late night pizza thrown in and some sore heads the next morning. The Tonsley Hotel Big Breakfast is quite the hangover cure.
While some of the crew went off on the factory tours, a few of us went to visit the Outlaw Speed Shop, well known for catering to Mopars and stocking lots of cool performance stuff. They also happened to be holding a mini car show out the front!
The quality of cars was OUTSTANDING, so many super tough cars and perfect factory stockers, plus US muscle and a rough survivor CH Hardtop recently found in Ayers Rock.
The cruise circled around the Adelaide CBD, we had a couple of issues navigating but there was always another Valiant to follow, even if they were going the wrong way too...
The finish point was absolutely chockers with people and Mopars and they just kept on rolling in:
After some quality hamburgers it was time for a bit of fun racing on the way back to the Tonsley Hotel for another giant night on the piss. Thanks to all the bar staff for putting up with our antics.
Sunday it was time for the big one. After a rather slow start we headed down, hard to describe how awesome it was being in the factory with so many amazing Chryslers. I guess the pics can do the talking. We had wandered through there in prior years but more areas were open this time including the panel press area where the swap meet was setup. We were all “nerding” out on the nostalgia and history of the place including an awesome booklet published by the club that had a ton of interesting facts and maps of all the areas
I did miss a fair few cars in these pics, was just so many on display.
Went to the “meet and greet” at the Tonsley Pub and then the talk by ex-employees of CAL. Saturday some of us went on the historical tour with Gavin Farmer around Adelaide of all the TJ Richards and CAL/MMAL factories. Many are still there as industrial ghosts.
Saturday night was the cruise were we all piled in the VF and Phoenix to get to the start point and then a few of us getting lifts in a few other locals cars. Cruise was about an hour and finish up we had a feed and wander around to look at some cars and then back to the Tonsley Pub for some discussion and bench racing. Old Ron who is 85 was chatting up the barmaid and did a great job of keeping up with us all.
Sunday was the show that’s walking distance from the pub down to Tonsley Park. I spoke to Iain and he said they had well over 300 cars under the roof and a bunch outside dotted around in car parks. Was the perfect place for a car show. It was all under one roof, there was plenty of food and drink shops built in already. Sadly it’s a one off as the back half is getting demolished soon I’m told. The fact it was in the factory were most of these cars were built just sealed the deal.
.
We guys from the West gave out an award for the car we would most like to drive home across the Nullarbor. Was a VH 318 770 with A/C in Deep Chartreuse. Turned out the car had a great story and the guy who won it was over the moon. Has 69,000 miles on it. We gave him a bottle of red wine and a few Charger Club of W.A stickers. Said he had never won anything in his life and it was his deceased grandfather's car. His grandfather had been killed while serving in the army (I think - was that right Bruce?) 30 years prior and his grandmother had kept it locked away in a tiny garage, even the family didn't know it was there. When she passed away they were clearing out her house and had to break the lock on the shed to then find the VH. The bloke had only put new tyres on it and got it running again after oiling the bores and a service
By Sunday “arvo” it was time to make a move, back to the Tonsley Hotel for the last couple of beers of the trip.
The Chrysler car club of South Australia have to have a “pat” of the back for one of the best Chrysler shows/car shows full stop I have ever been to. Was a mountain of work to get a deal with the state government to get the cars in there for the day. Once they got the go ahead from them it went pretty painless. They had no judging or entry cost to keep it as simple as possible so the club has taken a hit to make this once in a lifetime event happen on their bottom line.”
Pictures can be viewed at Facebook here.
As a late entry the club has been allocated 8 places at this biannual event.
Meet 7.30 am Gull Garage Cnr Brookton Hwy and Canning Rd Karragullen.
Depart 8.15 am sharp or prior.Approximate distance 100km.
If any members wish to attend call or text Paul Monkhouse on the club phone 0459325340.
Names can also be given to Paul at the next club meeting.
The club has previously attended and enjoyed a great day at Brookton.
We can also meet up with some of our country members.
Thanks.
Paul.
The cruise to Whiteman Park on Sunday 18th was well attended and the parking area under the trees at Whiteman Park was perfect for catching up with new and old mates.
There are a heaps of pics to view at Facebook here.
There is also a video can view here.
Now we start looking forward to the next event which is the Supercruise on March 25th.
![]() |
This Sunday (18th) is the cruise to Whiteman Park. Meeting at Belmont Sports and Recreation Club at 9:30am for a 10am departure.
Next month is the big one! The 2018 Supercruise on Sunday the 25th March. This year with 2 starting points, meeting at 3:30pm for a 4pm departure from Hillary's Boat Harbour and Bunnings Armadale (Cnr Ranford Road), a midway regroup point, tunnel run then finishing at the BSRC where there will be a live band and Burger Barn food truck.
The first cruise for the year is on tomorrow (Sunday 14th).
Starting at the usual Belmont Sports and Recreation Club at 9:30am for a 10am departure then cruising to Freo, down the cafe strip to see and be seen!
The route will let us go past the other cruisers a couple of times and then end at E shed markets.
We won't have dedicated parking unfortunately so we'll have to park up with the regular people...yuck... and head in to the markets for a spot of shopping and food if wanted. Or just head back into the main street for some more laps.
We've put in an order for some sunshine and mild temperatures so we'll see how that goes.
Welcome to 2018 everyone!
Our next club event is the club meeting on the 8th January at the usual spot, Belmont Sports and Recreation Club.
Our next cruise is on the 14th Janurary, starting at the BSRC and finishing at the E-Shed markets in Fremantle, going through the Freo cafe strip to see and be seen.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Whilst not an official CCWA Inc. event there was enough of a presence of CCWA Inc. members along with their vehicles to make this a worthy post. Four Mopars appeared in the final ApocaLaps Short Course event held at the Wanneroo Karts track on the 26th November 2017. So how did "Team Mopar" fair at this event ? Head on over to the ApocaLaps page for the results. Oh and make sure you "Like" the page and keep an eye out for future events in 2018. https://www.facebook.com/ApocaLaps-625118770903412/
Jaydin was also crowned overall winner from the season of Apocalaps events.
Videos are available all over facebook.
A couple of dates have been set for some pretty important events.
Other smaller (non club events) coming up include;
The Motorplex is opening the season on 28th October with a massive one day event, Powerpalooza.
The next Charger Club event is the annual Night Owl Cruise on Saturday 4th of November . This year we're heading to Village Pizza Kitchen in Lesmurdie!
Gather at Belmont Sports and Recreation Club at 4:30 for a 5pm departure, arrive at 6pm for dinner.
People attending will need to phone ahead to order their food.
PH 9291 4444 and tell them you're from the Charger Club.
The next Charger Club fo WA Inc meeting is on 13th November at the usual, Belmont Sports and Recreation Club.
Further ahead we're having a Sausage Sizzle & Show'n'Shine at AUTO ONE Malaga on Saturday 18th November.
Check the calendar page for other events coming up.
Great effort by Charger Club of WA members and Mopars in general at Nostalgia Drags today! 4 out of the 8 trophy winners were Mopars! (not including Top Gas)
Close, but no cigar, Laxy in his 68 Dodge Charger, Runner Up in US Muscle losing to a car that stalled on the start line.
Great effort by Dick Scaife in his VG Valiant hardtop to win Street Machine class against a very quick Falcon.
Well done Jake Rebrovic in his purple Charger who broke out the least against Steve Hotchkin in his VC Valiant to take the win in Oz Muscle.
This year they used a Chicago Shootout style instead of eliminations. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a loss. Not entirely sure how they chose who went into the finals but it means everyone got 3 runs instead of potentially just one or two if you were eliminated early. Some people didn't know about the new format and left after losing their elimination race not knowing that there were entitled to more races.
I personally had a ball and enjoyed seeing Mopars perform so well on the day! Except Laxy's effort in the final, that was hard to watch :P
Layne.
(greenval)
We have four spaces available for any member wishing to attend the Como Rotary Club car show.
Please let Paul Know if you wish to attend.
Members to meet at BSRC car park at 8.15am departing at 8.45am.
Don't forget this Sunday is the next Tech Inspection Day at Jake's workshop in Chidlow.
If you're already booked in then you know where to go. You can either meet there at the assigned start of 11am (or a touch earlier)
Or you can start at Belmont Sports and Recration Club with anyone else for the cruise to Chidlow. Meet at 9:30am for a 10am departure.
The cruise is also open to those that are not having there cars inspected and even non-members can come on the cruise and finish at the Chidlow pub while club members get the benefits of the BBQ and drink at Jake's.
We hope to have the Team Pacer t-shirts available at the September club meeting.
Those members that put their name down for a shirt can pay and collect them from Paul Monkhouse
We will also have a few extra shirts for sale at the meeting and other club events. $40.00 each
Cruise to Prendiville Catholic College Fathers Day Car Show THIS SUNDAY!
Again we tick another annual cruise off from our events calender for 2017. We were once more graced with fine sunny weather, and we must thank our club secretary John Hartley for arranging that. Make sure you send him a gift on "Secretaries Day" please ! Great to see a number of new cars on this cruise, some driven by new club members, we hope you enjoyed your first event with us. Some driven by club members who cannot help themselves and keep buying more cars ! Once more we say thanks to all who attended, even if you were only able to make parts of the run. Your efforts are much appreciated. .

Well the smoke has settled on ECD2017 now. The birds have gone home, the sixes have been packed and the Hot Mustard Pacer's are still base model Valiant sedans with stripes ! Big thanks to everyone who showed up to display a car, enter a driving event or just to spectate.
Special mention to the owner of the Ex Ian Diffen Sports Sedan Charger who was kind enough to display the car "In-The-Round" for all to see. We managed to re-unite the car with two previous owners and also the Diffen family today ( More on that later )

Hi All,
Some pictures (vals only of course) of the All Australian Card day at Waroona.
Very windy and the oval was a sand pit due to re-grassing work. The oval grass was damaged by the helicopters working on the fires there recently, so they dug the whole lot up.
A few stall holders got sandblasted and they took off, no doubt very unhappy.
All the car displays were mostly up wind on surrounding grassed areas and some were on the basketball courts which was well shielded.
My CK never made it, the radiator had died by the time I got to Glen Forest to pick up Peter, so I left it there and we went down in his car.
I put some stop leak in it when we got back and I nursed it home no problems.
That is the second time the top tank has split at the same point, so I will need to find a better radiator repairer.
There are two pics of Paul Monkhouse with Chris Stone handing over an envelope to a gentlemen there, that is the club handing over a donation to a rep of the Waroona Fire Brigade.
There are two pics of a dark red VJ hardtop, it is for sale for $42,000.
I think it is a 245 Auto.
There were a few nice cars in the car parks too, managed to snap a few of them.
Paul.
Two events on the one day unfortunately for some people.
On the 10th of April the All Australian Car Day is on at Waroona and also Round 2 of the Club Sprint Series at MC Motorsport.

If you're quick you could enter your car, or just come along to watch from 12:30pm.

The final meeting of 2015 held at the RAC Driver Education facility was a great success! 8 cars were let out onto the track lined up behind one of the professional drivers in their track spec commodore. Each lap a new car become the 2nd car in the procession to follow the instructor giving everyone a chance to see how close than could keep up to them. No helmets were required so speeds were not very high but still enough to get some spirited driving from the cars, or put around and catch up and the end of each lap if that was your preference.
Juergen also spoke to the members and enthralled everyone with his knowledge and experience of both race and street driving, covering everything from safe seating position in a street car to who on the road is a high risk of accidents (that's race car drivers believe it or not!)
So now we move into 2016! We've already had our first meeting and the next big event on the horizon is the Super Cruise on 12th March. To refresh your memory how cool the Super Cruise is, you can watch some videos made from the 2014 Super Cruise here.
Motorvation is on next weekend which is more for the 'bogan' crowd or car enthusiast it might be fair enough to say, though the event is defintely family friendly and event organizers do very well and the crowd is always well behaved. A small contingent from the Charger Club of WA will be there to cruise, race and just generally enjoy their own and other peoples' cars.
We're also asking all members to send in info via the 'Members Machine' page of the website so we can share your car! Or if you already have your info on the site, maybe update it with any new info.

There will also be sausage sizzle so tell your friends and make a night of it!

The Shannons 'Super Rig' will be at the club meeting on 12th October. We'll have a shortened general meeting start at the usual 7pm then spend the rest of the night being entertained by what the 'Super Rig' has!
It was a cold and wet day but it did not seem to dampen the enthusiasm. Notwithstanding the weather conditions the number of entries was at a level which resulted in the event remaining viable. The cost is still around $100.00 for non members and a little less for members of the Charger Club as the Club does subsidise its members with a modest contribution.
There were 36 vehicles entered with 43 drivers, 13 of whom were Club members. In general terms the entrants drove steadily and according to the conditions. Such conditions present a splendid opportunity to gauge what you are able to do as a driver and how your vehicle will behave. I do not believe anyone stopped driving because of the weather conditions but may have withdrawn for other reasons one of which, at Collie, is brake fade.
One of the youngest drivers and a first time entrant was awarded the Memorial Trophy for being the Driver of the Day -- well done Jansen Rebrovic! In discussions with our Track Observers it became obvious to me that Jansen drove within his limits and in a gentlemanly manner, in others words being aware of what is happening on the track around him. Did he receive expert tuition from his father, a previous recipient of the Trophy?
Our helpers must be congratulated in sticking to the task at hand in such inclement weather. They were all exposed to the elements for a long period of time.
It is my belief this event is popular enough for the Club's continued support of the same. In order to maintain numbers we do depend on the attendance of persons outside the Club and in particular the group who travel up from Albany. They are members of the Great Southern Street Machine Car Club. We thank them for their support and participation on a regular basis which has been for a number of years.

The Annual General Meeting was held recently. Paul Monkhouse has agreed to continue on as President, in fact, all the roles have been retained by the previous people. Kylie Sewell as Vice President, John Hartley as Secretary and Darren Isaacs as Treasurer.
Committee members are Steve Butt, Darren Witte, Paul Najjar, Wayne Sewell, Layne van Smaalen, Stephen Trefry, Bruce Muller and Santo Mannino.
John Hartley received the Trevor Hedge Trophy for outstanding contribution to the club throughout the year.
Layne van Smaalen and Kim Belcastro were named as Club Person(s) of the Year. They have both been contributing a lot to the Facebook page and internet presence of the club, hopefully bringing in more people and cars to events and also the club.
Layne has made videos with club members, talking about their cars as well taking video at club events. If you haven't already seen, you can view videos at the YouTube channel.
Kim has become the clubs main photographer and you can see his work from basically all Charger Club of WA events but also any other important motoring events in or around Perth You would see his pictures here on the website, on the weekly email and also on the official Charger Club of WA Facebook page and also the unofficial Facebook group.
Kim also has relationships with many Chrysler and motoring enthusiasts around Perth and has been very helpful in drawing some of the best Mopars in Perth to Charger Club events as well as helping to spread the word of our club.

A group usually drives down together, which is handy for any issues on the drive down, then enjoy a few drinks and watch video footage recorded from the day and stay the night in one of the local hotels!

Apologies to the public who went to All chrysler day expecting to see the Plymouth super bird and hemicuda. Due to the unforseen weather these two cars couldn't be taken to the event. I did manage to bring two of the four cars that I intended and to the resilient mopar people who attended I trust that they enjoyed the cars that were there.
I will work alongside the charger club to organize a future event that will enable the public to view all of the cars that I intended to be present.
All the best frank.
The biggest event ever put on by the Charger Club of WA will be on this Sunday at the Kwinana Motorplex!
If you've never seen one of the famous winged cars from Plymouth then you'll want to be there for sure!
Also, this beautiful R/T Challenger will be there....
Nearly 50 winners will walk away with a trophy!

The weather was great today for a cruise and so many car clubs seemed to be out on the roads today. About 20 cars left from the start point in Belmont and a concurrent cruise starting from Tomato Lake ended up intermingled with many of the Charger Club cars for much of the journey until they took a different turn off from Roe Highway.
The Charger Club cars almost filled the car park at the Bindoon Bakehaus and Cafe where everyone enjoyed a great lunch and some chit chat.
You can view some footage from today at this link on YouTube.
The next club event is the Retro Car Sales Yard at Wannero Chrysler/Jeep on 18th April.

It is with deep sadness and regret that we advise the passing of Leo Geoghegan on the 2nd March.
Leo was a much admired supporter of our club and its major events.
He first came to WA as our guest at the Chrysler Expo 2011, being his first trip west. Following that event, he made subsequent trips west to join in with our members and to make himself available.
Apart from his very successful open wheeler racing achievements, he was instrumental in the development, testing and racing of Pacer’s and Chargers for Chrysler Australia.
Leo was always willing to make himself available to talk to anyone about his experiences in a very relaxed and humorous manner. The information gained from these informal gatherings could never have been obtained other than from Leo himself.
As a result of our clubs contacts through Leo we have made many friends with other Chrysler enthusiasts right across Australia.
Our vice president Kylie Sewell flew over to see Leo last week and spent some special time with him. I know this would have been of comfort to Leo during this time.
Leo was engaged by Chrysler Australia to develop their racing programme during the early 1970s.He made valuable contributions to their aims given his knowledge and experience. All this was achieved on a very limited budget due to local content constraints. The result of all this was that they were able to present very impressive and competitive road cars and race cars. Some of that input and development is still being seen in cars that continue to race today.
Leo was the only race driver to have raced at Bathurst for the Big 3, again another significant achievement.
We will miss Leo and will always hold him in our hearts as an admired racing car driver and friend.
Our thoughts go out to his family and all the motor racing and Chrysler family right across Australia.
No doubt he will be sharing much with his brother Ian (Pete) in the big race track somewhere out there.

The Shannons All Historic Race and Regularity Meeting was attended by a few Charger Club members.
Those that attended from the Charger Club of WA really enjoyed themselves over the weekend and will be back again next year if the opportunity is made available to us (hopefully we can get some more members attending also)
Good to see some Mopars out competing on the track and a few members from the Club had an opportunity to meet and have a chat with Steve Hooten, the owner of the Black Charger and exchange details.

It is important that we are aware of the numbers attending - please contact John Urquhart on or before Friday, 8th
Our club BBQ trailer will be at the track so a sausage sizzle will be available for a reasonable outlay.Entrants must ensure they have sufficient fuel for the trip to Collie (200km from the CBD) and track time. Fuel is not available at the track.
The other major cost is the entry fee which we try to keep to around $120.00. Join in a parade lap.

To Ron, Kylie and all Charger Club of WA members,
We would like to acknowledge and thank all club members for their support of the Make a Wish Foundation on the Supercruise day. The foundation, through the generous support of organisations such as yours, allows kids who have dealt with some tough times in their lives to experience some of the more fantastic aspects of life. All recipients of wishes are grateful for the opportunity the support of community groups provides.
On a personal note we would like to thank John for allowing Caidee and I the honour of cruising at the head of the procession, and for his fantastic engagement and patience with Caidee. Ever since that day I think we have a budding Charger owner in our midst! She has not stopped talking about it since (and wants to wear her t-shirt everyday).
Once again thankyou to all we talked to on the day and for your support of the fantastic Make a Wish Foundation.
Dale and Marnie Butler
Hello Everyone,
On behalf of The Charger Club of WA "Everything Chrysler" I would like to
Thank everyone who attended the Super Cruise on Saturday 4th of February.
It was a great turnout - 124 awesome Chryslers, it was a wonderful sight to behold. The weather was perfect as was the atmosphere; I hope everyone enjoyed the day.

Thanks John, she Loved the cruise and just loved the T-Shirt we presented her.
A huge thank you to Cheryl and Scott from Zach¡¦s Commercial Artists, for their very generous sponsorship. All the profits from the T-Shirt¡¦s go to the "Make A Wish" foundation.
Between entry fees, T-Shirts and donations we raised nearly $1450.00 for the
"Make A Wish Foundation" Thank you all for your generosity.
FYI: We also had 3 photographers from 3 National Magazines taking photos of our fantastic display.
Yours sincerely

General Motors Corporation, Chrysler LLC and Cerberus Capital Management LP have held preliminary talks about a merger or an acquisition of Chrysler by GM, according to a person familiar with the talks.
Chrysler, which is 80.1 percent owned by Cerberus, already has a joint venture with GM making a hybrid gas-electric powertrain, and has discussed a full merger or acquisition with GM, said the person, who did not want to be identified because the talks have not been made public.
-----
The negotiations between 100-year-old GM and 83-year-old Chrysler began more than a month ago. The Times said its sources pegged the chances of a merger being completed at "50-50."

The Charger Club trailer is almost ready. With a slide-out BBQ and bench along with heaps of storage space it'll be great for every club cruise. All it needs is a lick of paint - and by popular demand it will be painted Aussie Chrysler Hemi Orange.

The 2008 Nostalgia Drags have come and gone. It was a great day! Check out some photos here.
The new 2008 Dodge Challenger is has been officially realised. With a starting price tag of just over $40,000 USD it makes for a reasonably priced muscle car. Putting out 425 HP and 420 LB.-FT of torque, and looks to boot, there is no doubt that this is some serious muscle.

Whats special about it? With its optional "Hard Core" package, it's pretty easy to figure out the idea behind the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR. This is one for the serious knuckle-draggers, the guys who somehow feel like a standard Viper with its 600-horsepower V10 engine just isn't extreme enough. They want more, although in this case they actually get less, as the ACR is essentially a lightweight, track-ready version of the standard car.
40 pounds of weight have been removed from the car, there is less deadening, no stereo, and in the place of the stereo a lap timer has been inserted. The drivetrain remains untouche and still runs the standard 600HP V10 motor. It comes with adjustable suspension, new front anti-roll bar, better brakes and an adjustable carbon fibre rear spoiler. There is a new variable-geometry front aero splitter that increases down force, with an optional extra centre piece that can be fitted for track only days that will increase the down force by one third.

The first production of the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8® Sold for $400,000. The proceeds from the auction are going to a charity.
The limited-edition 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 features a 6.1-liter HEMI® V-8 engine, HEMI Orange paint, carbon-fiber-like hood stripes and a chrome fuel filler cap. Only 6,400 Challenger SRT8 vehicles will be produced for sale in the United States for 2008; more than 4,300 orders placed the first day the all-new Dodge Challenger SRT8 went on sale.
The winning bid was placed by Craig Jackson, Chairman/CEO of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company, who bought the first production Challenger without even seeing it. On display at the auction was the Challenger concept, which was introduced two years ago and still drew large crowds at the auction all weekend. Dodge is ecstatic that the sale of the first production 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 to roll of the assembly line raised $400,000 for such a worthy cause," said Mike Accavitti, Director — Dodge Brand and SRT Global Marketing, Chrysler LLC. "The introduction of an all-new, modern Dodge Challenger has generated a lot of excitement, and the enthusiasm for the new car was evident on the auction block."

I have just had my beautiful 440 Cuda stolen from Sydney and wanted to get the word out to all MOPAR lovers that these pricks have stolen my car so they can't sell it to anyone. The VIN/Engine number is, in case someone comes trying to flog parts etc... I personally imported her from Phoenix AZ so as you can imagine I am completely heartbroken. The car was stolen from Sydney on or about 14 Jan 08 and is an original Cuda.
BS23L48 271031 Vin number, the car was running a NOM 440 which had the VIN 271031 stamped on the top of the block. All sheet metal and window sticker, door tag were still on the car so there's a chance that these numbers may come up as parts as well. Some parts are stamped with the same VIN number, the doors have the VIN tags on them as well. Up on top of the dash (like new cars) there is also the VIN number under the glass.
Some less than intelligent car thieves may not know this and just remove the fender tag from under the hood and leave the rest... Don't know how they would steal it as a whole. More likely that they will strip it and try to sell as parts or worse still just rip the 440 outta it to use and destroy the rest. It's something that is of very little value to anyone except the rightful owner.
If anyone knows anything or hears of anything, please have them email me direct on dd8088@gmail.com or phone me on 0422 255 930.
Thanks for your help.

As part of this update, our list of Option Codes has also been extensively increased. Check out the list here, and be sure to let us know if you know of a code that we don't have!

Charger Club run on 2nd September 2007. Check out the calendar page for more info.
A late addition to the website upgrade is a new Links page. Feel free to check it out here. If you want your site linked here just let us know.
The new version of the Charger Club of WA website has been launched as of 1st August 2007. What you see now is the new version of the site with many miscellaneous things added to the site. As you will see, the overall design of the site has changed only a small amount, as the main point of the upgrade was to make it so that the site is easier to maintain, but along the way a lot of pages have been redesigned and upgraded to look better and to be more user friendly. Hopefully as you browse the website you will notice some of these extra features and take advantage of them!

On Friday, June 15, 2007 at 12:00noon (US time), Tulsa`s Buried Plymouth Belvedere will finally be unearthed! It will be 50 years to the day that the big Plymouth was buried.
"On June 15, 1957, a new gold and white 1957 Plymouth Belvedere Sport Coupe was buried in a time capsule in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. The time capsule was part of Golden Jubilee Week: Tulsa's celebration of Oklahoma's semi-centennial. The car is buried under the sidewalk in front of the Tulsa County Courthouse, approximately 100 feet north of the intersection of Sixth Street and Denver Avenue"
"As part of the "Tulsarama!" festivities, citizens of Tulsa were asked to guess what the population of Tulsa would be in the year 2007. The guesses were then recorded on microfilm and sealed in a steel container buried with the car. When the car and artifacts are excavated, the person whose guess is closest to Tulsa's 2007 population is to be awarded the Belvedere."

Although there`s no hard evidence to suggest it will actually happen, an interesting article has surfaced suggesting how the new Challenger could be rebadged as a Charger for Australia.

Yet again, another great day at Collie just passed last weekend. There was a large turnout of cars estimated to be around 25 or 30 which made for a wide variety of metal at the track. New and old alike we all had fun - whether it be with twin turbos or with a lot of cubic inches.
Whilst heading down to Collie the rain was a little discouraging but overall the day was not too wet, often with areas drying up between light sprinkles of rain. A dry line appeared on the track after a period of time but that didn't stop a lot of us having traction issues. On the way back to Perth there was a fair bit more rain so really we were quite lucky to have a mostly dry day at the track.
Photos from the day (thanks to Keegan Rowe) can be seen on the Event Pictures page. Trevor Hedge also has some photos posted up on his website here.

Gentlemen, start your engines!
This coming weekend the Charger Club of WA is attending what hopes to be yet another great Collie Track Day. The event is a held every year, generally in early May, and allows club members to put their cars to the test on the Collie Race Track.
Friends and family are welcome, so feel free to come along and spectate. The event is held on the Saturday, 5th of May, with racing starting around 10:00am and finishing 2 or 3pm. Drivers and their vehicles will have to be at the Collie Raceway at 8:30am sharp. The weathe forcast is looking like a sunny 25°c day so hopefully this will be the case on the day.
So come down and cheer on your fellow club members and their cars putting the pedal to the metal - you will enjoy yourself! For contact information see the calendar page.
Please note: Earlier today I mistakenly put the date of the event as being the 6th of May, but it is definently happening on Saturday the 5th of May. My apologies for the mix up.
- Keegan
Coming up on the 20th of May is the National Motoring Day. It has been decided that this event will become a Charger Club run, so get your Mopar out of the garage and take it for a gentle cruise on what hopes to be a sunny Sunday.
We will be meeting at the Rivervale hotel carpark and then cruising to City Beach. More details to be advised soon.
Inspired by the 2003 Chrysler Airflite concept vehicle that was revealed at the Geneva motor show, the all-new Chrysler Sebring’s elegant lines evoke the exterior styling features of the Chrysler vehicle, bringing the Chrysler brand’s expressive design attributes to the mid-size segment.
The Chrysler Sebring includes a host of new technology and features, ranging from a cutting-edge information, entertainment and communication navigation audio system to a heated/cooled front cupholder for keeping hot beverages hot and cool beverages cool. A long list of safety systems includes an Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), advanced multi-stage front air bags, side-curtain airbags and front-seat-mounted side airbags.
Three engine options will power the 2007 Chrysler Sebring that will be sold in Australia: the new standard 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (dubbed the I-4 World Engine), a highly efficient 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, and at a later stage a 2.7-litre V6 petrol engine. Fuel economy is a high-priority for many of today’s car buyers, and the 2007 Chrysler Sebring rivals the best in the mid-size car segment. Sebring's 2.4-litre engine with dual variable valve timing is mated to a four-speed automatic transaxle and delivers 125 kW and 220 Nm, impressive fuel efficiency as well as smooth, quiet operation.
The available 2.7-litre V6 engine is coupled with a new six-speed automatic transaxle that comes standard with Auto Stick. The combination delivers excellent performance and fuel efficiency, as well as smooth quiet operation.
A state-of-the-art 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission will also be offered on the Chrysler Sebring. The diesel engine will deliver excellent performance and fuel economy, with an estimated 103 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque.
The new Chrysler Sebring is slated for a May 2007-onwards release.

Last weekend on the 8th of April (Easter Sunday) the club was invited to attend a track day by the Falcon GT Club of WA at Wanneroo Raceway (Barbagallo). 6 club members and cars turned up to wave the Mopar flag against 32 other cars of various brands, mostly Fords.
The way started off rather doubtful with it raining quite heavily up until about 11am. By the time we lined up to get on to the track it was almost dry, but that didn't stop Jake Rebrovic's VH Charger (with a supercharged 360 V8) from digging up the dirt (see pic).
The best time of the day (short track) was Andy Thompson in his Triumph with a 59 second time.
Photos from the day (thanks to Keegan Rowe) can be seen on the Event Pictures page.
